Orpheus

This painting was originally made for CGSociety's "Steampunk Myths and Legends" Challenge, but unfortunately I never got around to finish it in time. Instead I finished it later, outside of the competition.
It's a steampunkish reinterpretation of the old Orpheus & Eurydice myth. Orpheus travels to the Underworld and plays his harp to Hades, Lord of Death, in an attempt to persuade him to release his beloved Eurydice. In this particular version, Death is a machine...
